Episode 39

#039 - An Important Conversation on Depression w/ Cindy Russell

This has to be one of my favourites. I know, I know. I could say that about every episode, but this one is special.

Cindy is one of those people who you can’t help but feel comfortable opening up to. I have talked Cindy’s ear off on a zillion different occasions, so I thought it was high time I sit down and listen for a solid hour. Our conversation shares a little bit about Cindy’s life growing up, but ultimately veers into a beautiful discussion about depression and mental health.

While I edit, I take little notes on this episode focuses on. This one was tough… We talk about feeling like damaged goods, the toll of depression on ourselves and on relationships, the importance of reaching out, why we want to resolve conflicts with people, and well… everything else.

I really believe this is a conversation anyone would benefit from listening to.

Even more, though, I believe everyone ought to take time out of their day to listen to those around you. Find 5 minutes, today, to listen. Just listen.

Alex Williamns

Alex Williamns started "My Wax Museum" out of a desire (need) to become a better listener. He'd always wait for people to finish their story so he could jump in with (what he thought was) a better story. By sitting down and listening intently to the people he knew, he discovered the AMAZING lives led by the people surrounding him!
